Chainguard is hiring a UK-remote Manager, Software Engineering (Libraries Automation) to lead a team building secure-by-default open source libraries and AI-driven automation for reliable, compliant releases.

Chainguard delivers hardened, secure, production-ready builds of open source software used by engineers and AI agents, and is trusted by customers including Fortune 500 enterprises and leaders such as Anduril, Canva, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake. This UK-remote role sits within Chainguard’s Libraries product, helping drive the evolution of its secure open source library ecosystem.

You’ll provide vision, mentorship, and strategic leadership for an engineering team building and maintaining libraries at scale, guiding technical direction across language ecosystems, dependency and release management, security hardening, and automation. The role also includes owning artifact comparator gates, LLM-based judge rubrics, and AI automation; enhancing reproducible and auditable build/test infrastructure (including vulnerability detection, patching, SBOM and provenance generation); partnering across engineering and product; and representing Chainguard Libraries externally with partners and community maintainers.
